What does a typical day in your role look like?

No two days are the same! I recruit people for a wide range of roles, which can include everything from facilitating scenario-based assessments in the orchard to financial accounting tests. It’s a dynamic role that keeps me on my toes.

How did you get into this role?

I relocated to the Bay of Plenty for the lifestyle. With experience in HR within government, I applied for the role and was successful.

Did you need to study for this role, if so, what did you study?

Studying definitely helps with career progression. I completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resources.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Growing people and creating a positive work environment.

What’s something unique, surprising, or fun about your role or team?

Not being stuck in a city CBD! I get to spend time working with the team in the orchards—which is a rare and refreshing aspect of working in HR.

What advice would you give someone interested in your role or career path?

If you’re a people person, go for it! You’ll need to be adaptable and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
