The report highlights major achievements in agri-education and industry engagement. Key milestones include:

  • Curriculum Resources: Development of 10 junior Agricultural & Horticultural Science units for Level 3/4 NZ Curriculum, covering topics like primary production, biodiversity, rural safety, and technology. These resources are available on HATA and Agribusiness in Schools websites.
  • Mātiki Minecraft Launch: An interactive Minecraft Education world showcasing seven primary industries (beef, sheep, kiwifruit, dairy, pipfruit, forestry, arable) launched in March 2025. Linked to careers and curriculum units, it was promoted at HATA Conference, Fieldays, and career expos.
  • Teacher Support: 8 regional hubs (5 in-person, 3 online), 46 schools directly supported, and over 1,000 participants engaged through forums and expos. Professional development included webinars and workshops.
  • Additional Resources: 45 literacy and 9 numeracy worksheets, updated assessment materials, and a careers unit using Leaving School magazine profiles.
  • Industry Collaboration: Initiatives like Mr Apple internships, Fonterra Agri-teacher scholarship ($10,000), and partnerships showcased at Fieldays and career expos.
  • Impact Evaluation: Food & Fibre CoVE report confirms AIS students are 3.6 times more likely to enter tertiary training and 3 times more likely to work in the primary sector than peers.
  • Student Opportunities: Hort Day Out, Farm2Future camps, and tertiary pathways promoted.
  • Media & Outreach: Strong social media presence, national media coverage, and recognition at Fieldays Young Innovator Award (KiwiPrune project).
