The submission expresses:

NZKGI supports stronger controls on bifenthrin to manage environmental risks but does not support removing grower access to the product altogether.
Bifenthrin remains a critical tool for controlling Passionvine Hopper, with no equally effective alternative currently available.
The kiwifruit industry already operates under robust stewardship, auditing, and compliance systems that promote responsible agrichemical use.
NZKGI recommends retaining access to bifenthrin under strengthened controls, similar to those used for Hi-Cane, to support production and biosecurity needs.
