2024 Regional Representative Elections
2024 Regional Representative Elections
New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Incorporated (NZKGI) works to advocate, protect and enhance the commercial and political interests of New Zealand kiwifruit growers. We represent kiwifruit growers, giving them their own voice in industry and government decision making.
The NZKGI Forum make up the body of NZKGI’s representatives and comprises of 26 elected forum members. Of these, 17 are regional representatives, eight are supply entity representatives and one is a representative of the Māori Growers Forum.
The regional representatives represent each growing region in New Zealand and have a three-year term on the NZKGI Forum. This three-year term expires in 2024. The elections for the next term are as follows:
- 17 May – 19 June: Call for nominations.
- 19 July – 21 August: Growers vote on nominees.
- 23 August: Election results announced.
All grower Members of NZKGI are eligible to be nominated for these vacancies. While the definition of a grower can be found in Rule 8.2(a) of the NZKGI Rules, in simplicity, it can be generally said that all growers can be eligible to be nominated. However, growers must have an orchard in the region that they are nominated for.
